Diabetic Foot Ulcers: Insights into Management and Prevention

Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is one of the greatest thoughtful difficulties diabetes, negatively affecting patient's health and socioeconomic status. Around world, diabetes prevalence increasing in both developing developed countries. There are several measures place most countries to limit complications. This review summarizes pathogenic mechanisms that lead diabetic focuses on prevention management. It may be possible prevent ulcers thus amputation risk by physicians' awareness ability identify risky feet. Diabetes neuropathy, peripheral artery disease, immune dysfunction three major contributing factors. In order treat a detailed history physical examination necessary. neuropathy arterial disease manifestations, such as infections, should examined during this examination. Prevention approaches integrate multidisciplinary method centered patient education. Preventive efforts must, however, sustained for long time them effective.
